School club makes blankets, scarves for needy at 'knit-out'

Seventh-graders Elaine Hasbrouck, Emily English and Katie Mueller, all from Wheaton, share a laugh Dec. 8 while they and other members of the Edison Middle School Service Club in Wheaton spent part of the day knitting blankets for premature infants and scarves for the homeless.

Their work with needles certainly didn't needle anybody.
On the contrary, their actions elicited praise and feelings of goodwill.
About 30 students in Edison Middle School's Service Club gathered Dec. 8 in the school library in Wheaton to knit and crochet blankets for premature infants and scarves for the homeless. The children got a little help from parents, teachers and friends."
